What the client needed

Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA is one of the nation’s leading naturopathic medicine colleges. The 40th anniversary of the institution was celebrated at one of their annual fundraising events. This video was created to highlight some of Bastyr’s scholarship students and inspire donors to contribute to the scholarship program.

PART 1

Yousef Jasemian, MD, PhD

Bastyr University California

A Danish citizen pursues a naturopathic degree because of his childhood, and a cultural connection to natural health. A practicing MD in Denmark, Yousef sees naturopathic medicine as an essential part of patient care. Because it is a rigorous program, Yousef says student scholarships are invaluable to those pursuing a naturopathic degree.

Marianna has had a strong connection to cooking since childhood, and found her calling when discovering Bastyr University’s Nutrition program. She worked throughout her six years of college, while also receiving scholarship support. In this segment, she advocates for the scholarship program and its importance to students.

PART 3

Brian Traynor

Naturopathic Medical Student 2020

Bastyr University California

Brian was a cross country athlete who ran for the United States Military Academy at Westpoint. Shortly after graduating from the academy, he was training for a triathlon and was hit by a car. It set off a series of health challenges that led him to pursue treatment at Bastyr Center in Sorrento Valley, CA, and eventually to study naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University.
